Hospice of the Calumet Area is blessed with a remarkable group of volunteers known as the Friends of Hospice. This dedicated fundraising auxiliary plays a vital role in supporting the organization’s mission: serving individuals and families facing 

life-limiting illnesses. Through their tireless efforts, these volunteers have touched countless lives across Northwest Indiana and neighboring Illinois communities.

 

With a membership of over 200 supporters, Friends of Hospice has made an extraordinary impact. Over the years, their contributions have exceeded $1.5 million—a testament to their commitment and the strength of community spirit. Each member brings unique talents and time, united by a shared goal of ensuring everyone in need receives compassionate end-of-life care.

The Friends of Hospice has several fundraising events each year:​

 

• Art & Garden Party is held in the spectacular gardens of the Zeck Family, generous supporters of our Hospice mission. Guests can stroll the lovely gardens while enjoying a glass of wine, a tasty appetizer and the sounds of the lyrical flutes. 

 

• Butterflies in the Park – A Butterfly Hunt & Cherishing Life Fest   is a family friendly event where young and young at heart search for beautifully handcrafted butterflies in a park setting, enjoy a picnic buffet and enjoy some fun games and fellowship.

 

• Kick-off the holiday shopping season with the Hospice Artisans at the annual Holiday Market. Shop beautifully hand crafted gift items made by local artisans. Give the gift that gives twice as 100% of the proceeds benefit Hospice of the Calumet Area.
